Sony Slashes PSP Price Down to 7990 in India

New price point enables us to broaden the PSP platform to a larger group of consumers who are looking for best-in-class handheld entertainment."Sony has slashed the price of the PSP 3000 by 15 percent in India. The announcement came from Atindriya Bose, country manager for Sony six years after its initial launch, demand for the PSP remains strong. This Computer Entertainment Europe, during an interview with Financial Chronicle.
Atindriya Bose Country Manager, PlayStation business in India said, “PSP continues to offer a total entertainment package at unbeatable prices. The console’s new retail price point of INR 7990 and an attractive free game of Street Cricket Champions will make it an attractive buy this summer holidays for the Indian Gamers. ”Along with the price slash, the company will also release three India centric games like Cart Kings, Battle Royal and Chandragupta Warriors. Trine Entertainment, Gameshastra and Immersive Games will publish all three games.
Through the PSP, owners will not only be able to play video games but also enjoy music and movies while traveling or at home. The new retail price and offer of a free game is touted to begin from this month itself.
With the impending launch of Sony’s Next Generation Portable and the success of Nintendo’s 3DS console, this is a smart move by Sony and could see a healthy boost in sales of the PSP. This is probably the best time to get your hands on a brand new Sony PSP 3000.
